Golf in the Almerimar area
There is a golf course only a few moments away from the apartment, Golf Almerimar, in the centre of Almerimar. Opened in 1976 this golf course is surrounded by very fine scenery owing to its landscaped areas and lakes. Wide fairways are surrounded by the lush vegetation that protects the greens. The course is currently being extended from 18 to 27 holes. Tuition is available, and they even run courses for complete beginners.In Roquetas is the Club de Golf Playa Serena.
Set in the urbanisation of Roquetas del Mar, this 18-hole course is situated between a gorgeous pristine beach and 9 lakes, 7 of which are natural. The scenery is magnificent, set as it is parallel to the Mediterranean Sea. It is mainly flat with small, sloping greens protected by bunkers and water obstacles. Skill and precision are required, and the wind, blowing both from east and west, is an added challenge on this course.
A little further away is the La Envía Golf & Country Club.
With a
lovely view of the sea from the Sierra de Vicar, La Envía is
situated between El Parador and Enix, less tha 30 minutes from
Almerimar. It is designed with fun in mind; it has
no rough and is not excessively long. Landscaping is composed of palm
trees and
bushes which give the golf course an air of an oasis in the middle of a
spectacular desert. But golfers shouldn't be fooled as there are a few
complicated holes, like the 377 metres par 4 ninth, and the 365 metres
par 4
fourteenth requiring difficult shots on a green designed in the shape
of
volcano.
